Shari Stone-Ulrich
Shari graduated from Mizzou Nursing in 1985 as an RN and joined the US Air Force, working in labor, postpartum and nursery. The USAF sent her to Georgetown University for her MSN and to be a Certified Nurse-Midwife in 1993. While practicing in USAF hospitals, she caught over 1,000 babies. She retired in 2007 and moved back to NW MO to be near her family. Natural childbirth has always been her passion, if that is what the birthing mother wants. She believes strongly in birth being a normal event for the vast majority of women. She prefers to only use interventions if absolutely necessary, so it is a dream fulfilled to provide home birth services in Northwest Missouri. Shari and her partners look forward to making your next birth your best birth!
Lisa Matthes
Lisa is a Certified Nurse Midwife. Prior to becoming a CNM, she practiced as a Registered Nurse for 12 years, working in ICU, ER, and Telemetry. She received her undergraduate degree from CMSU (now UCM) in Warrensburg, MO. Her MSN in midwifery was earned from the State University of New York, at Stony Brook in 2008. Upon graduation from her midwifery program, she worked briefly in the hospital setting, but her heart has always been with homebirth, where normal non-interventional birth can be a reality and not simply lip-service. Lisa's favorite part of birth is the first hour of the new person's life, when she can watch the new family fall in love with each other!
